Initial Scanner Calibration
Note:
You must calibrate the scanner before using it for the first time.
There are two methods for calibrating your scanner and you can use either one
described here. For either method, you will need the calibration target (two sheets
came with scanner).
Calibrate from Scanners and Cameras under Control Panel
1.
Select Start

Scanners and Cameras.
Find your scanner in the list.
2.
Right-click on the scanner name.
A pull-down window appears.
3.
Select “Calibrate”.
For Windows Vista computers, right-click on the scanner model and go to
“Properties.”
4.
Insert the calibration target and click on the “Calibrate” button.
Calibrate from Software Application or TWAIN-Compliant
Application
1.
Install the bundled software application.
2.
On the menu toolbar, select
File

Select Source (Scanning Source)
3.
Select your scanner, SmartSource(TM) Micro Series.
4.
Do not select “WIA-SmartSource(TM) Micro Series” at this time.
5.
On the menu toolbar, select
File
Æ
Acquire Image Data…
The TWAIN user interface appears.
