INSTALLATION OF A DIGITAL DECODER

INSTALLATION OF A DIGITAL DECODER

A dummy plug is plugged into the 6-pin
interface for analog operation at the factory.
The dummy plug is connected to capacitors
(please also note the information below),
which are not required for digital operation.
You can easily pull off the dummy plug from
the side with needle-nose pliers.

The contact points for the decoder are thus
exposed. You can now plug in the decoder.
Pay attention to the correct installation
position. Information on this can be found
in the instructions for the decoder. When
installing the housing later, make sure that it
is in the correct position and that no cables
etc. are pinched.

Important note: set the CV5 for the maxi-
mum speed to a maximum of 40 or lower.
Otherwise you risk overloading and overhe-
ating the motor, which is designed for 5V!

Important note: The model is equipped
with capacitors on the interface connector
for analog operation. Please do not change
direction abruptly, but bring the vehicle
to a standstill before changing direction.
Otherwise you risk damaging the drive and
capacitors!

To install a digital decoder, the upper part of
the housing must be lifted off.
The separating edge is located below the
window; the component can be easily pulled
off with light pressure on the side on the
upper part. We recommend decoders from
Doehler & Hass or Zimo. Other decoders
may have too high a current consumption.

For safe storage of the individual parts and
for further work on the model, we recom-
mend the Modellbahn Union locomotive bed
MU-H0-A00500.

To ensure proper power consumption, both
your tracks and the wheels of the draisine
should be kept free of dust and dirt. The
wheels of the draisine can be used with the
usual

Cleaning fluids.

We recommend AC13 Track Magic from
Deluxe Materials.

When using the model for the first time,

allow it to run in for approx. 20 minutes in
each direction at medium speed.

After operating times of approx. 10 hours,
the gear wheels must be lightly greased from
the outside.

To grease the bogie gears, smear some model
railway grease on the visible gears of the
axles. Do not use oil! The grease is distribut-
ed in the drive mechanism.
