Selecting A Channel
Press
(ch)
or to select the desired channel. If you press and hold
(ch)
or the channel numbers will scroll rapidly.
NOTE
Refer to channel guidelines on page 12. For Australia, Channels
05 and 35 are reserved for Emergency Calls.
To Transmit And Receive
The radio uses the UHF-CB Channels.
(Channels 22 and 23 are for telemetry and telecommand
applications, channels 61,62 and 63 are for future use.
TX is inhibited on these channels.)
The maximum RF transmit power of UH506SX-2NB is 0.7W.
1. Before you transmit, listen for activity on the selected channel.
2. When the channel is clear, press (PTT) to transmit at the selected hi/lo
transmit power.
TX
appears on the LCD during transmit.The unit cannot transmit continually for
more than 3 minutes. If the user transmits continually for more than 3 minutes,
the unit stops transmitting a signal. The TX icon and the Channel segment will
blink and sound a tone.
Hold the radio with microphone approximately 5 cm in front of your mouth with
the antenna at approximately 45° angle away from your head. Speak in a clear,
normal conversational voice.
3. When you have fi nished speaking, release
(PTT)
for a response then
TX
disappears on the LCD.
RX
appears while receiving a signal.
Transmit Power Select
To change your transmit power level press
hi/lo lock
. To revert to the previous
power level, press the
hi/lo lock
again. When the TX Power setting is set
to low, HI icon is not displayed on the LCD.When the TX Power setting is
set to high, HI icon is displayed on the LCD. The RF transmit power of the
UH506SX-2NB is selectable between 0.7/0.5 W.
