AUTO MUTE/AUTO MUTE VOLUME
When the R8 detects a signal, it sounds an alarm at the current volume level for three
seconds. After 3 seconds, R8 changes the volume level to the Auto Mute Volume level
set in the Menu (see page 23).
Regardless of how high Auto Mute may be set, it will never be at a higher level than
the actual volume level. For example, if the volume is set to level 5 and Auto Mute
Volume is set to level 7, Auto Mute will keep the volume at level 5, the same as the
actual volume level.
Auto Mute ends 10 seconds after the alarm ends unless:
• The same signal is detected within that 10 second period; then, Auto Mute stays
on.
• A different band signal is detected during that 10 second period; then, Auto Mute
turns off and then back on at the current volume level.
Auto Mute does not apply to Laser Alert.
LOW BATTERY
The R8 alerts every 30 minutes when the car battery voltage is under 11 Volts. It
announces
Low Battery
and displays a
Low Battery
alert.
