Installation Instructions
1) Consider a location for the speakers that satisfies your listening
preference and the speakers’ performance characteristics.
2) Determine that the speaker locations are free from any piping,
electrical wiring, or structural framing. For maximum safety,
maintain at least a 1" clearance from any such items.
3) Draw the outline of the cutout hole for the speaker frame using the
included template. Use a keyhole saw (or consult with a
professional) to cut out the wall or ceiling hole. (see fig.1)
4) Connect the speaker wires to the proper terminals on the back of
the speaker. The positive terminal (+) is indicated by red and the
negative terminal (-) by black color. Ensure that the positive and
negative wires are well separated from each other. (see fig. 2)
5) Remove the grille from the speaker. Rotate the mounting arms to
clear the hole edges.
6) Insert the speaker into the cutout hole. Tighten the metal screw on
each mounting arm to firmly clamp the speaker to the wall or
ceiling. (see fig. 3)
7) Adjust the swivel tweeter direction if desired.
8) Adjust the treble balance switch if desired.
(UHB1-SW652 model only)
Settings: +3 - More treble
0 - No adjustment
-3 - Less treble
9) Position the aluminum grille on the front of the installed speaker
and gently press to secure the grille in place. (see fig. 4)
10) The speaker’s frame and grille can be painted the color of choice.
That’s it! Now you’ve made all of the necessary connections. Enjoy your
new UniHome Speakers.

Speaker Placement
Unicom recommends that the speakers be
pointed straight ahead from the listener. This
placement produces the largest, most natural
sound. However, the speakers may be angled
slightly according to preference.
The position of the speakers should roughly form
an equilateral triangle with the listener although
this will depend on the width of the room -- a
narrow room will require closer placement. If the
room is wide enough, ideal spacing is usually
about ten feet apart. All aspects of speaker
placement are dependent on the particular room.
Since every room is different, no hard rules can
be given and experimentation is necessary to
achieve the best results.
