Adding (adopting) additional APs to the network makes use of the UniFi Discovery Utility, installed alongside
the UnFi Controller earlier. The UniFi Discovery Utility listens to the multicast/broadcast packets from UniFi
APs, allowing you to adopt the AP without needing to make configuration changes to a DHCP or DNS server.
Note that
only APs in a default state or not in contact with any Controller
will be adoptable with this method. If
the AP you want to adopt is not in a default state (LED is white), press and hold the restart button for more
than five seconds to reset the device to factory default settings before proceeding with the steps below.
1. Open the UniFi Discovery Utility from
Start Menu > Ubiquiti UniFi > UniFi-Discover
.
2. The Ubiquiti UniFi Discovery Utility opens. Wait for the AP to display. Its status should be "
Pending
."
3. Click
Manage
. Ensure the

Set Inform
. The
Set Inform URL:
should be left at its
default value. Click
Apply
.
