Easy To Use
Just plug in U-Tron Watts Meter to any household power outlet then plug the appliance to
be tested into the meter, switch on the appliance and read the power consumption from
large digital display.
To obtain graphs of power usage over time, use a U-Tron Watts Meter with the USB
option. Just plug in the USB cabled supplied with your Watts Meter, load the CD supplied
with your Watts meter and follow the simple instructions.
Operating Instructions:
1.
Make sure the box is placed on a safe and secure surface.
2.
Set both switches (one on the front panel and one on the back) to the off
position.
3.
Plug the power cord supplied into the box and then into a wall power socket.
4.
Set the switch at the back of the box to the on position.
5.
Check to see if the display gives a reading of 4 zeros. If not proceed to
calibration (step 10).
6.
Plug the appliance to be tested into the front panel power socket.
7.
Turn power switch next to the socket on the front panel to the on position.
8.
Your appliance should be powered up and the power consumption in watts
will be displayed on the meter.

Note: This meter (part number U-6860-100) does not have a USB interface to
connect to your personnel computer. If desired please purchase a model that
has a USB interface. .
10.
The switch on the back of the box should be turned on first and the meter
should read 4 zeros. If the display is not all 4 zeros, the meter needs to be
calibrated. Please read the instruction manual for details. You can read the

The power switch on the front of the box only controls the load and not the
meter.
12.
Note: Even when the power switch on the front of the box is turned off
there will be current flowing to the meter.
13.
The meter draws 0.031 watts when operating.

If the meter shows a negative value, this is generally caused by the polarity of
the electrical outlet being reversed (a correctly wired socket will have the live
wire on the right hand side).
Opening a wall socket may result in
electrocution or fire hazard and should only be done by a qualified person.
