5.0 OPERATION

5.1  

Mounting The Tuc-Pointer Shroud

1.  Place dust shroud and adaptor around the grinder arbor.

2.  Hose nozzle should be at upper right (when looking down 

on grinder)

3.  Slowly tighten the 5 set screws on the adaptor ring in small 

increments. Make sure that the spacer  washer is centered 

around the blade nut. Tightening one screw all the way

The Tuc-Pointer is designed for simple operation and has 

been proven to be extremely useful and versatile. Either a 4”, 4.5” 

or 5” diameter diamond blade may be mounted on the saw in 

they are rated and approved for operation at 2,800-10,500 RPM. 

READ AND CAREFULLY FOLLOW THE OPERATION AND SAFETY 

INSTRUCTIONS OF THIS MANUAL BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT. 

Since safety regulations can vary between counties and states, 

you must contact proper authorities and follow all appropriate 

regulations.

No person should attempt to operate this machine without first 

being trained in the operation of industrial cutting and grinding 

tools. These instructions are not intended as a substitute for 

training experience. The operator must observe safeguards that 

include, but are not limited to, the following:

ER. UNAUTHORIZED MODIFICATIONS CAN LEAD TO SERIOUS 

INJURY OR DEATH TO YOURSELF OR OTHERS.

•  DO NOT use any blade marked for less than 2,800 - 10,500 

RPM.

•  DO NOT service the machine or change cup wheel or grinding 

disk without first disconnecting the power.

•  DO NOT install a blade before inspecting the part for damage.

•  DO NOT operate with a damaged blade. A damaged blade may 

fly apart and cause serious injury or death.

•  DO NOT use a blade that wobbles when mounted.

•  Verify blade is correct for application before use.

•  Verify blade rotation matches the direction arrow on the 

grinder motor.

•  DO NOT apply power to the machine before spinning the blade 

by hand to check alignment.

•  DO NOT operate with any loose nuts or bolts. Check all nuts 

and bolts for tightness.

•  DO NOT operate without appropriate eye, ear, foot, hand, and 

breathing protection.

•  DO NOT operate around any loose or foreign objects that may 

damage the system.

•  DO NOT operate if arbor shaft has excessive end play.

•  DO NOT cut material that the blade is not designed for.

•  DO NOT operate machine near combustible material or fumes.

•  DO NOT operate without appropriate dust collection system.

•  DO NOT force blade through material to be ground. Always 

ease blade through material.

5.2  

Using the Tuc-Pointer

1.  Move the unit in the forward direction to get best results. 

Always have the nose of the unit pointed downward. Maxi-

mum suction is at the front of the vacuum housing.

2.  Guide the unit by observing progress through the semi-

circular cut out on the side of the guard. Wear all safety 

equipment when using the Tuc-Pointer.

3.  DO NOT use the Tuc-Pointer system for picking up loose 

matter, the unit was designed to pick up concrete dust 

ONLY.

Changing The Blade Disassembly

1. 

Remove the 2 bolts which retain the depth adjustment 

shoe.

2. 

Remove the nut that holds the housing cover and remove 

the housing.

3.  The arbor nut will unscrew counter clockwise, push the 

locking button on the grinder to hold the shaft in a locked 

position.

4. 

The arbor of the blade you are using is 7/8”. This is the 

only size which will work.(7/8” adapters, if securely posi

-

tioned, will allow 1” arbor to adapt to the 7/8” shaft.

5.4 

 Assembly

1.  Ensure the replacement blade is capable of turning at a 

rate of 2,800 - 10,500 RPM, or the rated grinder speed, 

whichever is greater.

2.  There is a directional arrow on all diamond blades. Make 

sure the blade is put on to turn in the proper direction. 

(This is an up-cut saw, the direction of rotation is marked 

on the grinder.)

3.  Tighten the arbor nut.

4. 

Replace the housing and secure the depth adjustment 

shoe, then secure tightly with nuts and bolts.
