TROUBLESHOOTING
CAUTION! Make sure vacuum is turned off and
electrical power cord is unplugged.
OPERATING ISSUE CAUSES RECOMMENDATIONS
Motor will not start.
Power switch.
Power plug.
Thermal cutoff.
Turn power switch on and wait one minute.
Push plug securely into extension
cord. Press cord into clip to secure the
connection.
Plug extension cord securely into outlet.
Try another outlet.
Check circuit breaker.

There is little or no suction.
Dust bag and filters.
Air path blocked.
No suction at end of hose.
Carpet height setting.
Replace dust bag, clean and/or change
filters.
Remove debris from air path.
(See Instructions page 6)
Check hose for blockage.
(See Instructions page 6)
Adjust knob to lower position.
(See Instructions page 5)
Red warning light is on.
Brushroll stall, full bag or
blockage.
Replace dust bag or clear blockage. Turn
power off to reset. (See Instructions page 7)
Vacuum is hard to push.
Carpet height setting. Adjust knob to higher position.

Front cover will not close.
No dust bag. Install dust bag. (See Instructions page 7)
Vacuum has burning smell.
Something may be caught in
the brushroll.
Check for obstruction and remove.
Dust leaking out of vacuum.
Bag is not seated properly. Ensure bag collar is properly installed in
dust bag housing.
Cannot remove or insert
disposable bag.
Front cover latch is in locked
position.
Open latch on front cover. Locate bag
collar and squeeze tabs to remove or
insert disposable bag.
