Preparation
The installation examples of the TYSON HaspLock Single-Hinge and
Double-Hinge models shown in the diagrams are just some of the variations
possible that include flat, inner, outer and curved mounting options. Before
installing, ensure there is sufficient clearance for the hasp to swing
outwards and down or up, as shown on the Drilling Template.
Tools required
Electric or cordless drill, Ø9.5mm (Ø3/8") drill bit for the Hinge and Staple
installation, Ø3.5mm (Ø9/64") drill bit for the Hasp Clip installation, 5mm
Hex Key (supplied) and a No.2 Phillips screwdriver.
Installation
1. Place the Single-Hinge or Double-Hinge HaspLock in the position
that you plan to install it in.
2. Line up the Hinge and Hinge Plate faces as shown.
3. Draw a pencil line around the Hinge Plate and Hasp parts.
4. Fold or cut the Drilling Template on the lines as shown, line
up the edges to the pencil lines then tape the template into position.
5. Centre punch the hole centres in 4 places as shown, drill the
required hole sizes then remove the template.
6. If the Hasp Clip is to be used, then after installation, swing the
HaspLock either up or down and draw a pencil line around the Hasp.
7. Fold or cut the Hasp Clip Drilling Template on the lines shown, line
up the edges to the pencil lines then tape the template into position.
8. Centre punch the hole centres in 2 places as shown, drill the
required hole sizes then remove the template.
Fastening
The mounting screws supplied are Buttonhead M8 x 60mm and suit a 45mm (1 3/4")
frame. For a shorter frame width, cut the screws back to allow for 10-12mm (3/8"-1/2")
of protrusion from the rear of the frame.
Add grease
to the screws for easier installation
and removal. For deeper frame widths use longer screws and ensure the same
protrusion. For face mounting, use 14G-16G Pan-Head screws with a minimum depth
of 38mm (1 1/2"). For correct operation of the HaspLock, the head thickness of these
screws should not exceed 4mm (5/32").
Lock Cylinder
The lock cylinder supplied is a standard 6-pin key-in-knob style with a
Schlage C keyway. It can be replaced with another similar style of cylinder
by removing the module from the Hasp with a 4mm Hex Key (not supplied).
Maintenance
If required, lubricate the HaspLock parts with graphite powder,
DO NOT use grease or oil.
