Testing
&
Registering
the
Heat
Detector
The
TEST
button
is
used
during
installation
to
register
the
heat
detector
onto
the
warden
call
system,
at
‐
home
alarm
or
Nursecall
system.
See
the
following
pages
for
how
to
put
each
of
these
products
into
registration
mode.
Press
and
hold
the
TEST
button;
the
horn
will
sound
rapid
beeps,
the
RED
light
will
flash
and
after
about
5
seconds
an
alarm
call
will
be
transmitted.
The
range
of
all
radio
devices
can
be
affected
by
the
working
environment,
always
take
care
during
installation
and
perform
several
test
calls.
Cleaning
the
Heat
Detector
Heat
detectors
are
not
as
susceptible
to
dust
and
contamination
as
smoke
detectors
but
it
is
still
recommended
to
clean
them
periodically.
Use
the
nozzle
attachment
on
a
vacuum
cleaner
to
remove
dust,
insects
and
cobwebs
from
the
cover
slots.
The
detector
can
be
wiped
clean
with
a
damp
cloth,
never
use
detergents
or
polish
etc.
Important
Information
when
Decorating
Never
paint
the
heat
detector
itself.
Unlike
smoke
detectors,
they
are
not
susceptible
to
contamination
from
paint
fumes
therefore
no
special
precautions
need
to
be
taken.
Heat
Detector
Battery
Life
If
the
alarm
begins
to
chirp
and
flash
the
red
light
every
40
seconds
the
heat
detector
battery
power
is
running
low.
Push
‐
up
the
catch
with
a
small
screwdriver
and
twist
the
detector
anti
‐
clockwise
to
remove
from
its
base
plate
and
isolate
the
battery.
The
complete
detector
must
be
replaced
when
the
battery
is
exhausted.
Transmitter
Battery
Life
The
transmitter
battery
is
checked
once
a
day,
if
the
voltage
falls
and
stays
below
a
preset
level
for
7
consecutive
days
a
low
battery
alert
is
automatically
transmitted.
Once
a
low
battery
call
is
received
the
heat
detector
should
be
replaced
within
7
days.
Transmitter
modules
must
be
returned
to
Tynetec/Aidcall
for
battery
replacement.
