Activating
&
Deactivating
the
CO
Detector
Remove
the
top
cover
and
withdraw
the
red
PULL
tab
to
connect
the
batteries
and
activate
the
detector.
The
GREEN
,
RED
and
YELLOW
lights
will
flash
in
sequence.
The
GREEN
light
will
blink
every
45
seconds
when
activated.
The
CO
detector
cannot
be
turned
off.
When
unit
is
approaching
its
end
of
life
it
will
emit
a
beep
and
flash
the
GREEN
light
simultaneously
every
45
seconds.
Remove
the
top
cover
and
cut
the
BLACK
WIRE
to
deactivate
(see
drawing
above).
Testing
the
CO
Detector
Press
and
hold
the
TEST
&
HUSH
button
for
at
least
5
seconds,
the
GREEN
light
will
flash
and
the
horn
will
sound.
The
TEST
&
HUSH
button
must
be
pressed
when
registering
the
CO
detector
onto
the
warden
call
system,
at
‐
home
alarm
or
Nursecall
system.
See
the
following
pages
for
how
to
put
each
of
these
products
into
registration
mode.
The
range
of
all
radio
devices
can
be
affected
by
the
working
environment.
Always
take
care
during
installation
and
perform
several
test
calls.
Mask
Time
&
Battery
Test
CO
detectors
include
a
15
minute
mask
time
to
prevent
alarm
calls
re
‐
reporting
and
an
Engineers
mask
reset/battery
test
function.
When
the
detector
is
activated
the
alarm
call
will
be
transmitted
once,
no
further
transmissions
will
occur
for
15
minutes
giving
time
for
the
cause
of
the
alarm
to
clear.
Engineers
mask
reset
function;
open
the
cover,
press
and
hold
BUTTON
1
on
the
transmitter
for
2
seconds
until
the
red
light
flashes
once.
After
a
short
delay
the
red
light
will
flash
once
more
to
indicate
the
mask
time
is
reset
and
the
battery
power
is
OK.
If
the
red
light
flashes
several
times
the
battery
power
is
low.
In
Case
of
Carbon
Monoxide
Alarm
If
a
potentially
dangerous
level
of
carbon
monoxide
is
detected
the
RED
light
will
flash
and
the
audible
alarm
will
sound.
Open
windows
and
doors
to
ventilate
the
area
Press
the
TEST
&
HUSH
button
to
silence
the
alarm
for
4
minutes
If
the
alarm
does
not
silence
the
level
of
CO
is
dangerously
high
(300ppm)
If
the
alarm
does
not
re
‐
sound
after
4
minutes
it
is
safe
for
a
qualified
person
to
find
the
cause
of
the
alarm.
If
the
alarm
continues
turn
the
appliance
off
and
do
not
use
until
it
has
been
checked
by
a
qualified
person.
Get
medical
help
for
anyone
suffering
headaches
or
nausea,
advise
that
carbon
monoxide
poisoning
is
suspected.
Alarm
Memory
If
the
RED
light
flashes
2
times
every
40
seconds
a
50ppm
level
of
CO
has
been
detected
for
at
least
90
minutes.
If
the
RED
light
flashes
4
times
every
40
seconds
a
100ppm
level
of
CO
has
been
detected
for
at
least
40
minutes.
If
the
RED
light
flashes
8
times
every
40
seconds
a
300ppm
level
of
CO
has
been
detected
for
at
least
3
minutes.
Press
and
hold
the
TEST
&
HUSH
button
for
20
seconds
to
clear
the
memory.
Get
all
appliances
checked
by
a
qualified
person.
In
Case
of
Fault
If
the
unit
beeps
and
the
YELLOW
light
blinks
simultaneously
every
45
seconds
there
is
a
fault
with
the
sensor.
The
unit
is
probably
defective
and
must
be
replaced.
False
Alarms
It
is
possible
tobacco
smoke,
household
cleaning
agents,
paint,
air
fresheners,
insect
sprays,
bleaches,
hair
sprays,
polishes
or
other
aerosols
can
cause
false
alarms.
Cleaning
&
Decorating
It
is
recommended
to
clean
the
detector
periodically
using
the
nozzle
attachment
on
a
vacuum
cleaner
to
remove
dust,
insects
and
cobwebs
from
the
cover
slots.
The
detector
can
be
wiped
clean
with
a
damp
cloth,
never
use
detergents
or
polish
etc.
Avoid
spraying
any
aerosols
near
the
detector.
Never
paint
the
CO
detector
itself.
When
decorating
cover
the
CO
detector
with
a
plastic
bag
to
avoid
contamination
from
water
or
dust.
Battery
Life
The
transmitter
battery
is
checked
once
a
day,
if
the
voltage
falls
and
stays
below
a
preset
level
for
7
consecutive
days
a
low
battery
alert
is
automatically
transmitted.
Once
a
low
battery
call
is
received
the
CO
detector
should
be
replaced
within
7
days.
