1. INTRODUCTION

Patch Panel Drawer 1933443–1 is used for housing
singlemode and multimode fiber optic connections.
The drawer fits into a standard 483 mm [19 in.]
Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) rack or equipment
cabinet. Read these instructions thoroughly before
starting installation.

Dimensions in this instruction sheet are in

millimeters [with inches in brackets]. Figures and

illustrations are for reference only and are not

drawnto scale.

2. DESCRIPTION

(Figure 1)

Each drawer consists of a cover and a tray. The cover
features two mounting brackets (with four 6–32
screws and four washers). Included are four 12–24
and four 10–32 cross–recessed screws for mounting
the drawer to the rack or equipment cabinet.

The tray features two push tabs, four housing
openings, four cable tie–down bars, and a cable exit
opening. The bars are used for securing up to 24
pre–terminated cable to the tray (three releasable
wire ties are included for this use). When the tray is
closed, the push tabs “click” onto the cover to secure
the tray to the cover.

Also included is a cable management kit (containing
eight network saddles and two spiders). The kit is
used for facilitating cable routing within the tray.

The drawer accepts four 6–port front loadable
interface housings or cassettes (available separately).

3. INSTALLATION

3.1. Open the Tray

Simultaneously push both push tabs slightly inward,
and slide the tray open. To remove the tray from the
cover, slide the tray open until it stops, then tilt the
tray slightly up and out of the cover.

3.2. Mount the Enclosure

ALWAYS use safe lifting techniques. NEVER lift

more thanyou canmanage comfortably. Lifting

guidelines are available from the Occupational

Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

1. Remove the tray from the cover, and set aside.
