Cable Assemblies
1. INTRODUCTION
This product is for use in a restricted access
location only.
This instruction sheet provides installation guidelines
for Tyco Electronics Active Cables for both CX4
D
and
QSFP connectors. Proper handling procedures
should be exercised when transporting or installing
the cables. Operation of the product must be
maintained within the 0 to 60
°
C operating ambient
temperature range.
D
CX4 connector is also known as Infiniband 4X or
SFF–8470.
This product does not contain anyadjustable
controls.
Use of controls or adjustments or performance of
procedures other than those specified herein may
result in hazardous radiation exposure.
Product is to be installed in accordance with both
National and Local regulations and/or
requirements or other authorityhaving
jurisdiction.
2. INSTALLATION GUIDELINES FOR CX4 STYLE
CONNECTOR ENDS
Refer to Figure 1 for installation of CX4 style
connectors.
1. Correctly align the CX4 plug with the receptacle
as shown in Figure 1A.
2. Insert the plug into the receptacle until it
bottoms. See Figure 1B.
3. To remove the plug from the receptacle, pull on
the “release handle” in the indicated direction until
the connector is removed as shown in Figure 1C.

CONNECTOR ENDS
Refer to Figure 2 for installation of QSFP style
connectors.
1. Correctly align the QSFP plug with the
receptacle as shown in Figure 2A.
