3.2 – Installing the Processor and Heatsink
DCA (Direct Chassis Attach) is required to install the Intel Xeon
processors on Thunder i7522
S5362. The processor heat -sinks need to be Intel’s CEK (Common Enabling Kit) compliant.
Each processor heat -sink needs to be mounted to chassis with which are 8 processor heat -
sink mounting holes (4 holes for each processor)
After you finish installing the heatsink onto the processor and socket, attach the end wire of
the fan (which should already be attached to the heatsink) to the motherboa rd. The following
diagram illustrates how to connect fans onto the motherboard.
After you’re finished installing all the fans you can connect your drives (hard drives, CD - R O M
drives, etc.) to your motherboard.
