Connection sockets
There are three, 3.5mm sockets on Sound-
Shuffle that provide extra functionality.
The “speaker” socket allows for the
connection of an external speaker, or
headphones. The “Switch” socket is an
input that allows an additional external
switch to be used to play back the
messages and the “Relay” socket allows the Sound-Shuffle to
control external circuits. The relay works just like a switch, but
the switch is only closed whilst a message is being played. The
relay connection can be made with a 3.5mm mono jack plug.
The relay is rated at 1Amp. If this current is exceeded the relay may be
damaged.
