Step 1. Position FLAT JACK®
Base Plates
1. Locate the positions of the FLAT JACK® base plates,
according to your site plan. They must be centered
over roof rafters.
2. Clear debris from the surrounding areas.
3. As shown in Figure 5-2, cut notches in the upper shin-
gles if needed to make the base plates lie flat.
