Chapter 2:
Software installation
The ViCtor II is fully Plug & Play compatible and will be
automatically recognised by Windows 95. After booting, the
computer will detect the ViCtor II and ask for the diskette
containing the drivers. Insert the driver disk into drive A. After a
while, the driver installation will be complete and you will be
able to continue with the installation of the application
programs.
Some older computers do not feature Plug & Play, so the card
will not be recognised when starting up Windows 95. In that
case, the ViCtor II will have to be added manually using the
'Add New Hardware' option of Windows 95. You can ask
Windows to look for the card. Windows 95 will ask for the disk
containing the drivers and install the drivers. Please refer to the
Windows 95 help for more information.
Note
The ViCtor II will not work with DOS, OS/2, Windows 3.11 or Windows NT.
To install the ViCtor II software supplied, carry out the following
steps:
1. Insert the diskette labelled 'ViCtor II application programs
1/1' into drive A.
2. With the mouse, click on 'Start'.
3. Select 'Run'.
4. In the empty dialogue box, enter 'a:\setup'.
Video conferencing is a fast-developing technology.
Consequently, the software supplied with your version may
require another command to start. This command, e.g.
'a:\dualsetup', will be printed on the diskette label.
When you have started the installation program, follow the on-
screen instructions. For additional information, consult the
comprehensive manual supplied with the software. Reply to the
on-screen questions with care. Erroneous settings may cause
problems later and lead to time-consuming troubleshooting
procedures.
