The macro symbol will be displayed in the bottom left-hand corner of the 
LCD screen when this mode is selected using the lens ring. 

 

Macro mode (for taking close-up photographs) 
Distance: 18 - 25 cm 
The macro symbol will be displayed in the bottom left-hand corner of the 
LCD screen when this mode is selected using the lens ring.

It is recommended to use the stand and the automatic exposure 
function (see chapter 10.3) w
hen using the macro function. 

10.3 Automatic 

exposure 

The camera has an automatic exposure function which gives a time delay of 10 
seconds before the photograph is taken. You can use the automatic exposure 
function to take a photograph of yourself. 
The default setting when the camera is turned on is off. The automatic exposure 
function can be turned on as follows. 
1. 

Set the camera to the ‘Capture’ mode. 

2. 

Press the control button upwards to select the automatic exposure function. 
The symbol for the automatic exposure function will appear on the LCD 
screen. 

Press the exposure button (1, figure 1) to take a photograph using the automatic 
exposure function.  
Whilst counting down (10 seconds): 
- A beep will be heard.  
- The number of seconds remaining will be displayed on the LCD screen.  
- The automatic exposure indicator (4, figure 2) will flash. 

Note:

 

It is recommended to use the stand when taking a photograph 
using the automatic exposure function. 

10.4 

Setting the flash 

The camera has various flash options.  
Selecting the flash: 
1. 

Set the camera to the ‘Capture’ mode. 

2. 

Press the control button downwards. Repeat this until the correct setting has 
been reached (see Table 9). 

 

Flash off. 

 

Automatic flash.  
The flash will work automatically when there is insufficient light.
