Installation and connection
1. Mount the time switch on a DIN-compliant rail. Carefully pull
the locking lever downwards slightly. Click the lock onto the
rail and let go again.
2. Connect the time switch according to the connection diagram.
Clamp the connecting wires in place. Use a Phillips screwdri-
ver to tighten the screws.
After the time switch has been connected to an electrical circuit, the power reserve
battery must be charged. Wait for approximately 10 minutes until the clock starts up
and you can set the exact time. The full power reserve is then available for a period
of approximately 5 days.
Operation and programming
• Open the transparent cover to reveal the controls.
•
Close the transparent cover when you have finished configuring the settings.
a) Programming switching times
1. Use the time wheel
(5)
to set the desired switching times. In the as-delivered condition, all
sliders on the slider wheel
(3)
are set to the outside (basic setting switched off). If necessary,
use a small tool (e.g. a pen) to configure the settings.
2. Slide a slider carefully towards the inside to the ‘On’ position. You will hear a click.
3. Slide the corresponding slider back towards the outside to the ‘Off’ position. You will hear
a click. Refer to the schematic diagram of the slider positions on the top right of the time
switch. The switch positions are marked with 0=Off and 1=On.
4. A slider represents a duration of 15 minutes. Move as many sliders as necessary to set
longer switching times (e.g. 2 sliders for a total of 30 minutes).
To activate the switching times, the operating switch must be switched to 1
0
(1)
‘ ’
(centre position).
b) Setting the time
1. To set the current time, turn the thumb wheel of the time setting hand
(6)
in a clockwise
direction. The 12/24h
(2)
display changes the numbers: 3>15 6>18 and 9>21. 3-6-9 shows
the first 12 hours of the day; 15-18-21 shows the second 12 hours of the day.
2. The time setting hands
(6)
show you the currently set time. This time must match the current
time.
Never turn the thumb wheel in the opposite direction to the arrow or use force.
c) Permanently switching the connected device on/off
1. In automatic mode, the time switch switches the connected device on and off at the preset
switching times. The operating switch 1
0
(1)
is set to (automatic).
2. To switch the device connected to the time switch on or off independently of the switching
intervals set with the sliders, turn the operating switch to 1
0
on ‘1’ or off ‘0’. The current to
the connected device is then permanently on ‘1’ or off ‘0’.

a) General information
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high
humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• This device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
b) Installation
•
The installation work may only be carried out by a qualified expert familiar with the
hazards involved and with the corresponding regulations.
• Before connecting the device, turn off the power circuit to which the device is to
be connected. Remove the corresponding main fuse or loosen the automatic fuse.
• Ensure that all corresponding cables are dead. Ensure that the cables are isolated
and that the contact points are covered. Never use bare wires for the connection.
• The device is protected internally against interference by means of a protective
circuit. Despite these protective measures, very strong magnetic fields may impair
its function.
• Interference can be avoided by observing the following installation rules:
- Do not install the device near to inductive loads (e.g. motors, transformers or
contactors).
-
The power should be supplied via a separate mains circuit (with a mains filter
if required).
- Inductive loads must be equipped with protective devices to reduce overvolta-
ges (varistors, RC filters).
