Function
This model offers the following features and
characteristics:
●
The model comes fitted with RP-25 wheel sets
for operation on code 75 track. This means that
operation is
not
possible on almost all track
systems used in Europe. RP-25 is a standard
of the American "National Model Railroad Asso-
ciation" (NMRA).
●
This model can be operated with DC power
(max. ± 14 volts DC), with Trix-Selectrix or an
NMRA/DCC multi-train control system.
●
The headlights at the cab ends of the locomotives
change over with the direction of travel and, along
with the number boards, vary in brightness with
the amount of voltage present in the track.
In addition, the Mars lights blink. This lighting
can all be turned on and off in operation with
Trix-Selectrix or DCC.
●
The mode of operation is automatically recognized.
●
There are power pickups on both locomotives.
Only the locomotive at the front picks up the data
to the decoder. This may cause the locomotive to
come to a halt during slow running and with longer
interruptions of current. It is therefore always
important that you be careful to have clean power
pickups and clean track.
●
Each locomotive has a motor built into it that is
controlled in tandem from the locomotive decoder
in locomotive no. 1.
Note: When in direct current operation, never switch
too quickly from forward to reverse travel (and vice
versa). Always first move the control knob to the
0 position for a brief moment, then set the speed
for the opposite direction.
