Helpful Hints
Use the fryer in well ventilated conditions.
•
All food contains moisture which turns
to steam during frying. Most of this steam escapes through the filter in the lid.
Use a recommended oil - do not mix oils or fats.
•
Always filter used oil before re-use. Never leave frying residues in the oil.
•
Replace oil frequently.
•
Discoloured oil, rancid oil, oil that emits an unpleasant
odour or oil that foams excessively when heated should not be used.
Take into account the type of food when you set the frying temperature.
•
Gener-
ally, precooked foods need a higher cooking temperature than raw foods.
If you need to add oil, do so between batches
•
. Allow the oil to heat up to the right
temperature before continuing - (“Ready” light on).
Follow your recipe
•
to help you set the correct time so the food cooks properly.
Ensure that the food is completely immersed in the oil.
•
Ensure there is enough room to open the appliance lid and operate the basket.
•
Do not lean over the fryer
•
when placing, cooking or removing food.
Check the progress of the food during cooking
•
- use the viewing window.
Cook food thoroughly.
•
Food may turn golden brown before it has cooked through.
Do NOT touch the metal surfaces of the fryer during cooking.
•
Always hold the basket by the handle during cooking operations
•
.
Never shake the fryer basket vigorously - hot oil causes severe burns!!
•
WARNING: it is dangerous to operate the fryer with low or no oil in the tank.
•
Ensure the oil in the tank exceeds the minimum mark before you start cooking.
WARNING: Prolonged misuse may cause the fryer element to fail totally.
•
When The Food Is Cooked
Wait a few seconds to let the steam subside. Now open the lid fully. Be careful as
•
there may be steam in the fryer.
Shake the basket s
•
lightly
to remove excess oil. Raise the basket, hook it over the
front edge of the oil well and transfer the food carefully to a heatproof utensil using
heatproof tongs or a metal spoon.
Return the basket to the fryer and close the lid.
•
If the food is not fully cooked:
•
Close the lid, lower the basket into the oil, and
continue the cooking process.
When cooking has been completed
Return the basket to the fryer and close the lid.
•
Set the temperature control to
•
OFF
.
Switch off at the mains socket and unplug the fryer.
•
Now leave the appliance to cool fully before cleaning.
•
If you are using solid fat:
Rremove the basket from the fryer before the fat in the tank solidifies.
•
Wash
the basket in hot soapy water. Use great care as the fat may splatter when it comes
into contact with the water. Alternatively, leave the basket on a heatproof surface to
cool after removing it from the fryer.
