Figure 3-16. Working window of the hemodynamics parameters
The cycle for determining hemodynamic parameters is combined with the measurement of
blood pressure by the NIBP channel. Parameters are defined during inflation, while BP is also
measured in the bleeding phase.
Since the measurements are combined in time, the start of the NIBP measurement automatical-
ly means the start of the NCOV channel, therefore, the method of starting the NCOV channel
(manual or automatic), as well as the interval, are set in the parameters of the NIBP channel.
To determine the parameters of hemodynamics, make the following steps:
Before using the NCOV channel on a new patient, set the gender, weight,
height and (it. 1.3.8).
If necessary, adjust the alarm thresholds for the CI and SI parameters
Prepare the patient and apply the cuff according to the recommendations in it. 3.9.2. The
cuff must have sufficient volume for normal inflation rate regulation.
It’s recommended to
use regular adult cuffs.
Make sure that the device is set to the "Adult" profile.
Press the NIBP button for a single measurement in manual mode or to start automatic
measurements with a specified interval.
At the end of the measurement, assess the reliability of the results in accordance with the
recommendations of it. 3.9.3.
Due to the fact that equable inflation in small-volume cuffs causes addition-
al technical difficulties, NCOV channel in the current version can not be
used with pediatric and neonatal cuffs.
