Ground
Screw
‐
Grounding
the
Media
Converter
:
Grounding
the
Media
Converter
helps
limit
the
effects
of
noise
due
to
electromagnetic
interference
(EMI)
via
proper
grounding.
Always
run
the
ground
connection
from
the
ground
screw
to
a
grounding
surface
before
connecting
the
Media
Converter
to
a
DC
power
source.
See
the
Install
Guide
for
details.
CAUTION
:
The
Media
Converter
is
intended
to
be
grounded
to
a
well
‐
grounded
mounting
surface
such
as
a
metal
plate.
Install
the
grounding
wire
prior
to
connecting
any
other
device
to
the
Media
Converter.
CAUTION
:
Be
sure
to
disconnect
the
Media
Converter
from
the
DC
power
source
before
installing
and
wiring
the
device.
Connecting
Power
to
the
Media
Converter:
The
Media
Converter
has
dual
(redundant)
power
inputs
providing
over
current
protection
and
reverse
polarity
protection.
The
dual
power
inputs
can
be
connected
simultaneously
to
live
DC
power
sources.
If
one
power
source
fails,
the
other
live
source
acts
as
a
backup,
and
automatically
supplies
the
Media
Converter
with
power.
See
the
Install
Guide
for
details.
