providing properly sized relief openings; by
interlocking a powered exhaust system; or by a
combination of these methods.
•
Refer to the heater rating name plate for determining
the minimum gas supply pressure for obtaining the
maximum gas capacity for which this heater is
specified.
•
Service personal shall perform a gas leak check during
the hearer start up, to verify the gas-tightness of the
heater’s components and piping under normal
operating conditions. Refer to
for instructions.
•
The installation shall conform with local codes, or in
the absence of local codes, in accordance with the
National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI/NFPA 54, or the CAN/
CSA B149.1 Natural Gas and Propane installation
Code.
•
Where duct work is attached to the inlet of the heater
installing contractor shall confirm blower operation
provides a minimum of four air changes through
heater and inlet duct before ignition can occur.
•
If the failure or malfunction of this heater creates a
hazard to other fuel burning equipment in the
building, (e.g. when the heater is providing the make-
up air to a boiler room), the unit is to be interlocked to
open inlet air dampers or other such devices.
Information Specific to Heater Installation
•
The heater inlet shall be located in accordance with
the applicable building code provisions for ventilation
air.
•
Consult factory before installing any accessories
designed to minimize the entry of snow and rain.
•
When operating in heating mode, the unit controller
will prevent recirculation of air to the heater.
Recirculation of room air to the unit is not permitted
when the unit it operating in a heating mode.
•
If in doubt regarding the application, consult the
manufacturer.
