Installation
Communication Link Connections
1. As illustrated in Figure 4, trim the outer covering of the
shielded cable back approximately 1 inch. Do not cut the
bare shield wire off.
2. Strip approximately 1/2 inch of insulation from each insu-
lated wire in order to connect them to the terminal strip at
the Remote Panel.
3. Refer to Figure 5 and connect the White lead to J1-1
positive (+) terminal, the Black lead to J1-2 negative (-)
terminal, and the bare shield wire to J1-3 terminal at the
Remote Human Interface Panel.
4. Close the key pad plate. Install and tighten the two (2)
screws removed earlier. Close the outer door and install
the recessed locking screw at the bottom right hand side
of the enclosure to prevent accidental starting of the unit
by un-authorized personnel while completing the wiring
at the unit.
5. To connect the opposite end of the cable to the unit, refer
to Figure 4 and trim the outer covering of the shielded
cable back approximately 1 inch.
6. Cut the bare shield wire off even with the outer covering.
Strip approximately 1/2 inch of insulation from each insu-
lated wire in order to connect them to the terminal strip at
the unit. Wrap tape around any exposed foil shield and/or
bare shield wire.
Note: The communication link is polarity sensitive.
Care must be taken to insure the polarity is
maintained when connecting these links at the unit.
7. Refer to Figure 3 and connect the White positive (+) lead
to the appropriate terminal on 1TB5 and the Black nega-
tive (-) lead to the appropriate terminal on 1TB5. (These
terminals are numbered only, reference to color is for
clarification in order to maintain polarity). For the specific
terminal designator, refer to the unit wiring diagram.
Note: Do not connect the bare shield wire to
ground at the unit.

Multiple Unit Operation
In a multiple unit configuration, the Remote Human Inter-
face Panel has the capability to communicate and control
up to four (4) units. Each unit requires a separate
Interprocessor Communication Bridge (IPCB) Module and a
communication link from the Remote Panel.
Terminal strip TB4 located on a daughter board at the bot-
tom right hand corner of the Remote Human Interface mod-
ule, is used to wire the second, third, and fourth unit to the
Remote Human Interface Panel. Refer to Figure 5 for the
terminal designation and location.
Final Unit Setup
This completes the installation of the Remote Human Inter-
face Panel.
Verify theDip Switche settings and daughterboard orienta-
tion is as specified in Figure 6.
To view the default parameters or to change any operating
parameters at the Remote Panel:
a. Restore all power to the unit;
b. Follow the step-by-step instructions in the
appropriate PTG manual (latest edition) that shipped
with the unit for programming instructions.
