If sand or dust build up is visible in the Searchlight front window or cooling fan then progress with this
inspection and cleaning refer to (1) through (8).
Under these conditions the PCIU and Grip Hand Controller must be inspected refer to (9) and (10).
Figure 95 - Lamp Assembly Structure
(1) Remove the lamp assembly in accordance with Chapter 5, G.
(2) Projection and Objective lens (Figure 95, item 7 and item 8).
(a) Use dry, low pressure compressed air to remove sand/dust.
(b) Clean with an approved cleaning fluid using a lint free cloth.
(c) Inspect for indications of scratching and/or cracking.
(3) Front Protection Window (Figure 56, item 8)
(a) Use dry, low pressure compressed air to remove sand/dust. Clean with an approved cleaning
fluid using a lint free cloth.
(b) Inspect for indications of scratching and/or cracking.
(c) Replace if the window is cracked or if scratching is considered to be excessive.
