Action Type
Description
WARNING
•
Control function is not disabled.
•
The following will be displayed on the alphanumeric display:
•
The top line will continue to display the system state prior to the error.
•
The error code is displayed on the bottom line of the display for 2 seconds.
HALT
•
All software controlled functionality is disabled (e.g. switches and discrete inputs
under software control.
•
The following commands are sent once to the searchlight system, e.g. CIU MKII
or PCIU MKII:
•
Turn lamp OFF.
•
Stop zoom.
•
The following will be displayed on the alphanumeric display:
•
Top line will be blank.
•
The bottom line of the display will display the error code.
•
The STOW and DEPLOY annunciator LEDs will be illuminated to signal the error.
•
The SLAVE and DIM annunciator LEDs will be extinguished.
•
The relay configured for fault functionality (if available) will be ON.
•
Software controlled relays (other than the fault relay) will be OFF.
•
Simple hardware controlled relays and LED annunciators will continue to display
system information.
•
Simple hardware controlled switch inputs will continue to be active.
FATAL
The microcontroller is reset and started up in the “Halt” state defined above.
C. Operation Under Special Environmental Conditions
(1) Cold and icing conditions.
(a) Lamp may not start on the initial attempt and an error message indicating the lamp failed to
start will appear on the Grip Hand Controller. Multiple attempts to start the lamp may be
required.
(b) Laser pointer wavelength will decrease slightly.
(c) Ensure the searchlight is stowed prior to power being switched off.
(2) High temperature (50°C ambient for searchlight)
(a) The lamp may turn off and the lamp cooling fan will continue running. Wait 5 to10 minutes
before attempting to restart the lamp.
