3.4 Other Information Required for Error Analysis
The following information is also needed to analyze the malfunction (especially a communication error).
Check the circles below if they are applicable.
(1) If the error is cleared or not.
Cleared by turning ON/OFF the power.
Cleared by performing “Clearing the image data area (1

Note : Image data are erased by this operation.

(3) When a communication error is occurring, turn ON the circuit monitor for the line 1 or 2 (13–338),
and check the condition of the FAX communication with the tone from the speaker.
Note : Turn OFF the circuit monitoring function after the checking is finished (13–338: 0).
Signals from the transmitter and that from the receiver clash.

Check the model name of the other party’s machine.
Noise occurring on the circuit.

Ask the telephone (or telecommunications) company if the line condition is normal.
Busy tone is heard from the other party during the communication.

Ask by phone if the other party’s machine has any problem. If it does not, check its model
