CD-ROM drive
The CD-ROM drive is easy to use. You can insert compact discs
into it while the computer is on and change compact discs
whenever you want to (as long as the system is not reading from
the disc).
If the CD-ROM drive component is not currently installed in the
SelectBay, follow the instructions in
DVD-ROM drive
Because DVD provides a significant increase in data storage, it
can support features that are not available on any other video
platform. These features include wide-screen movies, multiple
language tracks, digital surround sound, multiple camera angles,
and interactive menus.
Your Tecra 8000 Series computer may have a Toshiba DVD-
ROM drive and a Toshiba DVD Player that uses MPEG 2
hardware in your computer to play DVD video titles. This means
the computer is able to play high-resolution, full-screen video at
up to 30 frames per second.
The DVD-ROM drive reads DVD-ROM discs and the DVD
Player plays DVD video titles.
HINT: It is possible to play CDs in the DVD-ROM without
MPEG hardware.
