Swapping SelectBay modules
Any one of six modules can be used in the SelectBay:
❖ A CD-ROM drive that came with your machine or can be
purchased separately
❖ A DVD-ROM drive that came with your machine or can be
purchased separately
❖
A Weight Saver Insert (a “honeycomb” piece of plastic) that
came in your accessories box
❖
An external diskette drive is packed separately in the
computer box in a case designed for external use
❖ An optional secondary battery
❖
An optional secondary hard disk drive (HDD)

Removing a module from the SelectBay
Do the following to remove one of the modules:
1 Turn off the power.
CAUTION: Installing or removing a module while the
computer power is on can damage the computer, the
module, or both.
2 Turn the computer upside down and locate the SelectBay
cover.
3 Slide the SelectBay cover lock toward the back of the
computer.
