Swapping SelectBay modules
Any one of six modules can be used in the SelectBay:
❖
A CD-ROM drive that came with your machine or can be
purchased separately
❖
A DVD-ROM drive that came with your machine or can be
purchased separately
❖
A Weight Saver Insert (a “honeycomb” piece of plastic) that
came in your accessories box
❖
An external diskette drive is packed separately in the
computer box in a case designed for external use
❖
An optional secondary battery
❖
An optional secondary hard disk drive (HDD)

Removing a module from the SelectBay
Do the following to remove one of the modules:

Turn off the power.
CAUTION: Installing or removing a module while the
computer power is on can damage the computer, the
module, or both.

Turn the computer upside down and locate the SelectBay
cover.

Slide the SelectBay cover lock toward the back of the
computer.
