Expansion Options
Your computer is designed to work in your office as well as on the
road. This chapter explains how to set up the various external
devices so that your notebook can provide all the convenience of a
traditional desktop computer.

Using your computer at the office
By connecting an external monitor, external full-size keyboard,
and a mouse, you can work with your computer as if it were a
standard office model. You can connect a monitor and USB
devices directly to the computer.
If you want to connect your computer to the office network, you
need to attach the LAN Port Replicator or the optional Multimedia
Port Replicator. Both these expansion units provide a built-in
Ethernet module and RJ45 network port plus a range of additional
ports. The Multimedia Port Replicator also provides a Type II PC
