Expansion Options
Using the external USB diskette drive
I/O Adapter ports
Use the serial port to connect a serial mouse, serial printer or other
serial device.
Use the parallel port to connect a parallel printer or other parallel
device.
Use the monitor port to connect an external monitor. For more
information, see
“Connecting the monitor” on page 120
Use the Universal Serial Bus (USB) port to connect the external
USB diskette drive or other USB peripherals.
You can connect a PS/2-compatible keyboard or mouse to the
PS/2 port. Alternatively, you can attach an optional Y-cable to
connect both a PS/2 compatible keyboard and a PS/2 mouse
simultaneously.
Connecting the I/O Adapter to the computer
You connect the I/O Adapter to the expansion port on the right
side of the computer. To identify this port, see

You can attach the external USB diskette drive to the USB port on
the right side of the computer or to the USB port on the LAN Port
Replicator, the optional Multimedia Port Replicator or the optional
I/O Adapter.
