Troubleshooting – incorrect repairs could cause faulty function or damage
of the gear unit. The producer performs skilled and post-guarantee repairs of
the worm-gear units.
9) Storage:
If a gear unit will be stored or out of operation for a longer period, it is impor-
tant to
protect its external surface against corrosion. Such preservation
should be renewed according to its type and ambient environs. The store
should be dustfree, dry and without vibrations. Storage rooms temperature
should range within 0 – 40 ˚C: /± 10 ˚C/ is permissible. Gear units delivered
without oil filling
shall be filled with oil through filling holes and plugged – see
the Table 8.3. It is advised to turn the shaft by min. one revolution once per
3 – 4 months. Gear units filled with oil shall be stored and transported in the
mounting position. If a long-term storage period in the open air or in insuffi-
cient conditions is expected, producer's advice is
necessary .
10) Spare parts:
The order of separate spare parts shall include the number and the name of
the part, whole type description, identical when ordering complete worm-gear
unit, or a
serial number , see the rating plate and the job number – page 17.
