6.5.1 Starting a trip
ADVICE
During breaks in a trip, if there are swimmers near the boat:
Ensure that the system is switched off, in order to prevent unintentional opera-
tion of the remote throttle.
ADVICE

If there is visible damage to components or cables, do not turn on the
DEEP BLUE system.
■
Ensure that all people on board wear a life jacket.
■
Before starting, attach the lanyard of the Emergency Stop to your wrist or life
jacket.
■
The state of charge of the battery must be checked at intervals while on the
move.
Starting motor using the Side Mount Throttle, Single Throttle Top Mount, and
Twin Throttle Top Mount
Single Throttle Top Mount, Twin Throttle Top Mount:
1. Ensure that the Emergency kill switch is not depressed.
Side Mount Throttle:
2. Ensure that the Emergency Stop Switch was secured,

3. Ensure that the remote throttle is in the neutral position.
4. Turn the key switch to position 2.
The display switches on.
The Select LED lights up green at the active station.
Starting motor using the Side Mount Throttle Sail
ADVICE
The system can be started only if the Emergency Stop has not been actuated.
1. Ensure that the Emergency kill switch is not depressed.
2. Ensure that the remote throttle is in the neutral position.
3. Press the On/Off switch to start the system.
The On/Off switch engages.
The display switches on.
The Select LED lights up green at the active station.
