Installing the Battery
1. Position battery in the tray with the terminal posts
opposite from the hydraulic tank (Figure 46).
2. First, install the positive (red) battery cable to
positive (+) battery terminal.
3. Then install the negative battery cable and ground
wire to the negative (-) battery terminal.
4. Secure the cables with 2 bolts (1/4 x 3/4 inch),
2 washers (1/4 inch), and 2 locknuts (1/4 inch)
(Figure 45).
5. Slide the red terminal boot onto the positive (red)
battery post.
6. Secure battery with J-bolts, hold down clamp and
2 washers (1/4 inch), and 2 wing nuts (1/4 inch)
(Figure 46).
Charging the Battery
Charging the battery produces gasses that can
explode.
Never smoke near the battery and keep sparks
and flames away from battery.
Important:
Always keep the battery fully charged
(1.265 specific gravity). This is especially important
to prevent battery damage when the temperature is
below 32°F (0°C).
1. Make sure the filler caps are installed in battery.
Charge battery for 10 to 15 minutes at 25 to 30 amps
or 30 minutes at 10 amps.
2. When the battery is fully charged, unplug the charger
from the electrical outlet, then disconnect the
charger leads from the battery posts (Figure 47).
3. Install the battery in the machine and connect the
battery cables, refer to Installing the Battery.
Note:
Do not run the machine with the battery
disconnected, electrical damage may occur.

Servicing the Fuses
The electrical system is protected by fuses. It requires
no maintenance, however, if a fuse blows check
component/circuit for malfunction or short.
1. Unlatch the engine hood and raise the engine hood
to gain access to fuse holder (Figure 48).
2. To replace the fuses, pull out on the fuse to remove
it.
3. Install a new fuse (Figure 48).
