2. If the coolant level is low, remove the
expansion-tank cap and replenish the system.
Do not overfill.
3. Install the expansion-tank cap.

Servicing the Alternator
Belt
Service Interval: After the first 50 hours
Every 250 hours
1. Apply 10 kgf (22 lb) of force against the alternator
belt (
Figure 67 ), midway between the pulleys.
Note:
The belt should deflect 10 mm (3/8 inch).

2. If the belt tension is incorrect, perform the
following:
•
If belt deflection is less than 10 mm (3/8
inch), loosen the alternator pivot bolt and
tension bolt (
Figure 67 ), and reduce the belt
tension.
•
If belt deflection is greater than 10 mm (3/8
inch), loosen the alternator pivot bolt and
tension bolt (
Figure 67 ), and increase the
belt tension.
Note:
If needed, loosen the tension bracket
bolt ( Figure 67 ).
3. Tighten the bolts ( Figure 67 ).
4. Check the deflection of the belt again to ensure
correct belt tension.
