IMPACT

SPRINKLER-

45

Model 53721

Installing your Impact Sprinkler:

1. Dig out soil to a depth that

positions top of sprinkler at

ground level.

2. Connect water supply to either

bottom or side inlet.*

3. Seal unused inlet with plug

included.

4. Fill hole around sprinkler with

gravel, covered by layer of soil.

*In cold climates, protect sprinkler
from freeze damage by installing a
Toro Drain valve (sold separately,
Model 53740) to bottom inlet.

For new installations, avoid dry

spots and areas of over-watering by

spacing sprinklers so their spray

patterns overlap.  Use the guidelines

in the accompanying chart and

position sprinklers as shown for

optimum coverage.

Performance and Nozzle Selection Chart

Match spray pattern to your layout

Adjust sprinkler to fit your layout by selecting

full or part circle spray patterns.

Full

Full Circle:

Flip trip lever up

to allow sprinkler to rotate 360°.

Part Circle:

Flip trip lever

down. Move adjuster collars
apart. The space between the
collars determines the arc of a
circle pattern the sprinkler will
water (20° to 340°).

Ensuring Even Coverage

To ensure that each area of your
lawn receives the same amount of
water (uniform coverage), install
the nozzle indicated in the
adjacent chart to correspond with
the full or part circle spray pattern
you have set.  Toro nozzles feature
Matched Precipitation Rates to
allow sprinklers with different
patterns to be zoned together,
with each delivering matching
amounts of water.

Replacing Nozzles

1. Remove top cover.
2. Pull the rotor arm aside to

expose the nozzle.

3. Pull the nozzle tab toward you,

then push down to release the

nozzle.

4. Remove the nozzle and replace

with a new one.

5. Turn the nozzle tab clockwise

to lock the new nozzle in place.

Note:

 When using the orange or

red low-flow

nozzles, move

Adjustment

Spring to the B

position for best

functioning.

Reducing Spray Distance

To reduce the

spray distance

(radius) up to

25%, with the

sprinkler running,

turn the spray

reduction screw

clockwise into the stream,

counterclockwise to increase it again.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Do not use oil, grease or pipe dope

on sprinkler.
