Reducing the Tire Pressure
No Parts Required
Procedure
The tires are over-inflated at the factory for shipping
purposes. Reduce the pressure to the proper levels
before starting the machine. Refer to
Tire Pressure (page 29)

Burnishing the Brakes
No Parts Required
Procedure
Firmly apply the brakes and drive the machine at
mowing speed until the brakes are hot, as indicated
by their smell. You may need to adjust the brakes
after the break-in period; refer to
(page 45)

Traction Pedal
The traction pedal (
) has 3 functions: to
make the machine move forward, to move it backward,
and to stop the machine. Press the top of the pedal
to move forward and the bottom of the pedal to
move backward or to assist in stopping when moving
forward. Also, allow the pedal to move to the neutral
position to stop the machine. For your comfort, do not
rest the heel of your foot on reverse when operating
forward (
