Operation
Note:
Determine the left and right sides of the machine
from the normal operating position.
CAUTION
Before servicing or making adjustments to the
machine, stop the engine, set the parking brake,
and remove the key from the switch.
Checking the Engine-oil Level
Service Interval:
Before each use or daily
Note:
The best time to check the engine oil is when the
engine is cool before it has been started for the day. If it has
already been run, allow the oil to drain back down to the
sump for at least 10 minutes before checking. If the oil level is
at or below the Add mark on the dipstick, add oil to bring the
oil level to the Full mark.
Do not overfill.
If the oil level is
between the Full and Add marks, no additional oil is required.
The engine uses any Detergent diesel engine oil (API service
CH-4 or higher). Choose a viscosity according to the table
in Figure 10.
Figure 10
1.
Position the machine on a level surface.
2.
Remove the dipstick and wipe it with a clean rag. Insert
the dipstick into the tube and make sure it is seated
fully. Remove the dipstick and check the level of the oil.
3.
If the oil level is low, remove the filler cap (Figure 11)
and add enough oil to raise the level to the Full mark
on the dipstick.
