If necessary, pivot the engine on the engine
deck until the engine pulley and idler pulley
are aligned to the straightedge (
).

Tighten the nuts and bolts that secure the
engine to the engine deck to a torque of 18
N∙m (13 ft-lb).

Check the air gap between the engine deck
and the roller on the clutch. If the air gap is
not within the specified range, repeat step
until the air gap measurement is within the
specified range.

Install the divider plate; refer to
the Divider Plate (page 29)

Important:
Ensure that the paddles do not rotate
when the clutch lever is in the O
FF
position.
Replacing the Belts
Service Interval:
Every 2 years (belt-drive models
only).
Removing the Belts
1.
Park the machine on a level surface and shut
off the engine.
2.
Allow the machine to cool.
3.
Disconnect the wire from the spark plug; refer to
Disconnecting the Spark-Plug Wire (page 29)
.
4.
Move the clutch lever to the O
FF
position.
5.
Remove the divider plate; refer to
Divider Plate (page 29)
.
6.
Remove the bolt that secures the belt guide to
the engine, and remove the belt guide (
