Starting the Engine
1. Check the engine oil level. Refer to Checking the
Engine Oil Level in Maintenance.
2. Turn the fuel shutoff valve 1/4 turn counterclockwise
to open it (
Figure 25 ).

3. Insert the ignition key all the way in ( Figure 26 ).

4. Firmly push in the primer 3 times with your thumb,
holding the primer in for a second before releasing it
each time (
