Hydraulic System
Maintenance
Changing the Hydraulic Fluid
Service Interval:
After the first 200 hours
Every 800 hours
Change the hydraulic fluid after every 800 operating
hours, in normal conditions. If the fluid becomes
contaminated, contact your local Toro distributor
because the system must be flushed. Contaminated fluid
looks milky or black when compared to clean oil.
1. Turn the engine off and raise the hood.
2. Loosen the drain valve on the bottom of the
reservoir and let the hydraulic fluid flow into large
drain pan. Close the valve when the hydraulic fluid
stops draining.
3. Fill the reservoir (Figure 69) with approximately 8
gallons (30 l) of hydraulic fluid; refer to Checking
the Hydraulic Fluid.
Important:
Use only the hydraulic fluids
specified. Other fluids could cause system
damage.

of the hydraulic controls to distribute hydraulic fluid
throughout the system. Also check for leaks; then
stop the engine.

the level to the FULL mark on the dipstick.
