Planning Your Mowing Pattern

Following the suggested mowing pattern will reduce the risk
of running over the cord with the mower, and the cord will
not sustain unnecessary wear. Do not allow the power cord
to wrap around trees, shrubs, or other obstacles.

Begin by mowing near the electrical power source. Mow back
and forth, gradually mowing away from the power source
(Figure 8).

Starting the Motor

WARNING

Allow the motor to come to a complete stop before
starting it. Failure to do this could damage the
motor, making the mower unsafe.

1.

Connect the extension cord to the mower (if
applicable).

2.

Plug the other end of the cord into a household
electrical power outlet.

3.

Push the button on the right side of the handle and
hold it in (Figure 9).

While holding in the button, pull the control bar
toward the handle (Figure 10).

5.

Hold the control bar to the handle and release the
button (Figure 11).

Stopping the Motor

1.

Release the control bar (Figure 12).

Disconnect the mower from the power source if you
leave the mower unattended.
