
Washing the Underside of
the Mower
Wash the underside of the mower housing after
each use to prevent buildup of grass clippings for
improved mulching and clipping dispersal.
1. Park the mower on a hard level surface.
2. Disengage the power takeoff (PTO).
3. Turn the ignition key to the Off position to
stop the engine.
4. Secure a garden hose to the washout port on
the mower.
5. Turn the water on high.
6. Lower the mower to the lowest height-of-cut
position.
7. Start the engine (refer to the
Operator’s Manual
for instructions) and engage the blade or
power takeoff (PTO and let the mower run for
1 to 3 minutes.
Note:
The larger the mower, the longer you
may need to wash.
8. Disengage the blade and the power takeoff
(PTO).
9. Stop the engine and wait for all moving parts
to stop.
10. Shut off the water and remove the garden hose
from the washout port.
Note:
If the mower is not clean after one
washing, soak and let it stand for 30 minutes,
then repeat the process again.
11. Run the mower again for 1 to 3 minutes to
remove excess water.
