11.1.4 Cuts Are Crooked

Problem
The machine makes crooked cuts through materials.

Cause
The feed rate or cutting speed may be incorrect, you may be using the wrong blade, or you may need to make adjustments to
the blade.

Clean the
bandsaw.

Examine the bandsaw for chip build-up between the
blade and it's wheels. If necessary, clean it of chips.

Adjust the feed
rate.

Verify that the feed rate isn't too high: lower the feed
rate, and then do a test cut. Examine the behavior of
the machine as it cuts.

Examine the blade for dullness. If it's too dull, replace

bearings.

Examine the guide bearings: they may be out of
adjustment, or too far away from the workpiece. If they
