With a rotating laser to provide the elevation reference, you can use
the System Five and its Control Box to perform automatic land-
leveling.
Automatic Land-leveling
Once you complete an averaging survey, you can begin land-
leveling using the control mode.
• If the laser transmitter was moved since completing the survey,
see “To use a finish grade or hub as an elevation reference,” on
page 5-3.
• If you have just finished the survey and the laser is still in place,
follow the steps below for automatic land-leveling.
1. Press the Survey button to switch the Control Box from Survey
mode to Control mode.
2. Use the Grade Adjustment Knob to dial in your field's
average elevation into the control box LCD display.
Adjust the average elevation to allow for soil compaction. The
level of adjustment required depends on the condition of the
soil in the field. For example, if the ground was tight during the
survey, lower grade from 0.02' to 0.05'. For loose ground, like
after disking, allow 0.05' to 0.10' (Figure 5-1 on page 5-2).
