GETTING STARTED
a) Connecting the wall plug transformer
The LED magnifying lamp functions with both the included wall plug transformer and with bat-
teries. Plug the wall plug transformer’s low-voltage plug into the socket (8) located on the side of
the measuring device.
Connect the wall plug transformer to a socket connected to the national grid.
Place the connection cable so that nobody can trip over it.
b) Inserting/replacing the Batteries
Remove the power adaptor before inserting suitable batteries.
For use beyond the reach of a wall socket, the device can also be powered by four Mignon bat-
teries (type AA).
Proceed as follows to replace the batteries:
1. Open the battery compartment by sliding its cover.
2. Take out the battery holder, if it is in
the battery compartment.
3. Put in new batteries / exchange the
existing batteries in the battery
holder, paying attention to the cor-
rect polarity.
4. Place the battery holder in the bat-
tery compartment, paying attention
to the correct polarity.
5. Close the battery compartment.
➔
Do not mix old and new batteries. Always replace all the batteries at the same time,
otherwise the batteries discharge each other. Always use batteries of the same type
and brand.
Do not leave flat batteries in the appliance. Even batteries protected against
leaking can corrode and thus release chemicals that could be detrimental to
your health or damage the appliance.
Do not leave batteries lying around carelessly. They might be swallowed by
children or pets. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
Remove the batteries, if the device is not to be used for while, to prevent leaking.
Leaking or damaged batteries might cause severe burns if they come into
contact with the skin. Therefore, use suitable protective gloves.
Make sure that the batteries are not short-circuited. Do not throw batteries
into a fire.
Batteries (non-rechargeable) must not be recharged. Danger of explosion.
c) Switching on the LED magnifying lamp
Switch on the lamp, using the switch on the bottom.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Remove loose particles with clean compressed air and then brush off remaining residues with a
soft fine brush.
Clean the surface with a lens cleaning cloth or a clean, soft and lint-free cloth. To remove finger-
prints and other fat residues, the cloth can be moistened with water or lens cleaning solution.
Do not use acid, alcohol or other solvents or rough, fuzzy cloths. Avoid excessive cleaning and
extorting too much pressure.
➔
Never touch the lens with your fingernails or other sharp objects.
