Preparation for Operation

We recommend the use of a pre-filter and suction equipment consisting of a suction hose, a

suction strainer and a non-return valve. This will prevent damage to the pump from stones and

other solid foreign objects.

a) General Information

•

The water to be pumped must be clean and clear. Only fine suspended matter is admissible, which may

occur in every normal garden pond. Coarser impurities (leaves, dirt particles, pebbles etc.) clog the

suction port or block the pump.

b) Suction Port

•  Screw a suction hose onto the suction port. If necessary, seal the screw connection with sealing tape.
•  The suction hose should feature a suction valve. If the suction valve cannot be used, a non-return valve

should be installed.

•  Lay the suction hose so that it inclines upwards from the water intake point towards the product. The

suction hose should not lie higher than the product, otherwise air bubbles will form, which will make it

difficult to pump the water.

•  Make sure that the suction valve of the suction hose is deep enough in the water intake point (at least

10 cm below the water surface) so that the product does not run dry when the water level drops.

•  Make sure that the suction port is completely sealed. Otherwise air is drawn in instead of water.

c) Pressure Port

The pressure hose should be able to withstand the maximum discharge rate of the pump (see

“Technical data”).

If you want to use a pressure hose featuring a quick-release connector, screw the hose adapter

into the pressure port.

•  Connect a pressure hose to the pressure port.
•  Open existing locking mechanisms (e.g. spray nozzles, valves). This allows the air present in the suction

line to escape.

d) Inserting the Battery

The product is delivered without a battery and charger. You can find information on suitable

batteries and chargers in the “Technical data” chapter.

Do not use batteries and chargers from other manufacturers.

•  Charge the battery fully and insert it into the battery compartment. Close the battery compartment.

Operation

Switching the product on/off
1.

Place the product on a flat, firm surface.

2.

Fill the product with water through the water filler openings. This accelerates the suction process.

After you have filled the product with water, close the water filler openings airtight with the screw

caps.

3.  Switch the product on with the on/off switch. The product immediately starts up and starts pumping water.

If you want to use the product again at another time, fill the product again with water through the

water filler openings.

Removal from Service

Should the product be taken out of service (e.g. for cleaning, maintenance or storage for winter), then

proceed as follows:
•

Remove the battery from the product.

•  Disconnect the hoses from the product and dry them.
•  Let the remaining water drain out of the product through the water outlet opening.
•  Dry up the product. If required, clean the housing.
•  During winter, keep the product in a dry space protected against frost.

Troubleshooting

Fault

Cause

Solution

Pump does not run or suddenly

stops.

Battery empty.

Remove and charge battery.

Battery damaged.

Replace battery.

Other defect.

Product must be repaired by a

specialist.

Pump draws in too little water or

no water at all.

Contaminated water.

Clean pre-filter.

Hose/pre-filter clogged.

Rinse hose with water, clean

pre-filter.

Hose damaged.

Replace hose.

Suction hose material too soft/

thin.

Use harder/thicker suction hose.

Air inside the pump.

Fill the product with water

through the water filler open

-

ings.

Suction hose not deep enough

in the water.

Suction valve must be at least

10 cm below the water surface.

Suction port not sealed.

Seal suction port with sealing

tape.

Pump only runs for a short time.

Product switches off automati-

cally due to overheating.

Before switching on again:

Clear blockages and ensure

sufficient cooling.

Water temperature >35 °C.

Water temperature must be

below 35 °C.

Drive impeller damaged.

Product must be repaired by a

specialist.

Care and Cleaning

•  The product is maintenance-free. There are no serviceable parts inside the product.
•  If the product has not been operated for a long period of time, make sure that the drive impeller is running

properly. To do this, switch the product on briefly and then off again immediately.

•  If the pump is blocked, connect a water hose to the pressure port and remove the cap at the suction

port. Turn on the faucet and switch on the product several times for about 2 seconds. This will clear

blockages in most cases.

•

Remove the battery from the product before each cleaning.

•  Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as they can

cause damage to the housing and malfunctioning.

•  Use a soft clean cloth to clean the outer surface of the product. If necessary, you can use a damp cloth

and a mild cleaning agent.

Disposal

Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste.

At the end of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance with applicable regulatory

guidelines.

Remove the battery and dispose of it separately from the product.

You thus fulfill your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
