Overview of Tobii Pro Spark
Tobii Pro Spark is the next generation of compact high-performance eye trackers from
Tobii AB. It provides a flexible solution that supports different research scenarios and
study designs.
Tobii Pro Spark has a slim design that integrates well with external monitors up to 27
inches and laptop screens. The eye tracker can also be mounted on a tripod and coupled
with a scene camera so it can be used in study setups that use real-world stimuli such as
physical objects or scenes.
Use Tobii Pro Spark for studies on:
•
Laptop and desktop computers
•
PC monitors, 27″ (16:9) or less
•
Real-world setups such as physical objects and social interactions (using the
Tripod Stand)
•
Larger screens, projections, simulators (using the Tripod Stand, available
separately)
5.1 Tobii Pro Spark versions
Tobii Pro Spark is available in only one product version: 60 Hz.
5.2 How Tobii Pro Spark works
During tracking, Tobii eye trackers use infrared illuminators to generate reflection
patterns on the corneas of the participant’s eyes. These reflection patterns, together with
other visual data about the participant, are collected by image sensors. Sophisticated
image processing algorithms identify relevant features, including the eyes and the
corneal reflection patterns.
Tobii Pro Spark is a mono camera system that cycles between dark and bright pupil
tracking. Complex mathematics is used to calculate the 3D position of each eyeball along
with the gaze point (where the participant is looking).
